AM Best
Founded in 1899, A.M. Best Company is a full-service credit rating organization dedicated to serving the insurance industry. Policyholders refer to Best's ratings and analysis as a means of assessing the financial strength and creditworthiness of risk-bearing entities and investment vehicles.
The American Council of Life Insurers
The American Council of Life Insurers (ACLI) represents more than 300 legal reserve life insurer and fraternal benefit society member companies operating in the United States. These member companies represent more than 90% of the assets and premiums of the U.S. life insurance and annuity industry. In addition to life insurance, and annuities, ACLI member companies offer pensions, 401(k)s, and other retirement plans, long-term care insurance, disability income insurance, and reinsurance.
Indexed Annuity Insights (IALC)
IALC formed in 2011 with a commitment to providing complete and factual information about the use of indexed annuities as a part of any balanced financial plan. We are a consortium of four life insurance organizations, NAFA and producers.
Insured Retirement Institute
IRI is a not-for-profit organization that brings together the interests of the insured retirement income industry, financial advisors and consumers under one umbrella. IRI works tirelessly to promote consumer confidence in the value and viability of insured retirement strategies and as a respected resource for financial advisors. IRI membership is designed to give you a competitive edge. Our official mission is to: encourage industry adherence to highest ethical principles; promote better understanding of the insured retirement proposition; develop and promote best practice standards to improve value delivery; and to advocate before public policy makers on critical issues affecting insured retirement strategies.

NAFA’s membership of fixed annuity carriers and independent marketing organizations (or field organizations) represents over 200,000 agents and registered representatives selling fixed annuities. NAFA is grateful to its membership for their efforts and contributions to these comments. NAFA was founded in 1998 and is located in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC)
The National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC) is the U.S. standard-setting and regulatory support organization created and governed by the chief insurance regulators from the 50 states, the District of Columbia and five U.S. territories. Through the NAIC, state insurance regulators establish standards and best practices, conduct peer review, and coordinate their regulatory oversight.
